Hi there everyone! We hope that you all are doing perfectly great in your personal and work life and that you are also making awesome design projects with the help of our tips, tricks and mock-up PSDs. In our today’s blog, we are going to be talking about flags and everything that you must know before you start working on flag designs. In addition to sharing useful information, we have also created a free country flag mock-up PSD file for you guys – highly editable and super fun to work on so, let us get started!
Although, flags have been created and used for various purposes in the past for example; one of the most basic uses of a flag is to represent an area, place or an organization and serve as a symbol. A flag is also used as a signaling device too and of course, you can use a flag to decorate a building or two. The first ever national flag that was attested and approved and is still in use is that of Denmark’s (the Dannebrog). That happened in 1478 and then with the passage of time, countries started to work on their identities and flags started to appear after careful planning and designing.
The flag of the United States of America (also known as the Stars and Stripes) was approved on June 4, 1777 by the Continental Congress. Initially, the blue canton had thirteen stars but the layout kept on changing with time and now it has fifty stars that represent the fifty states of the United States of America. Similarly, all the colors, shapes and stripes etc. in a flag design represent something and then it must be approved and attested by the concerned national level departments to roll it out.
As far as the dimensions of any flag are concerned, you would know that they can vary depending on the usage like the ones that are hoisted to flag poles are pretty huge while the ones that are used to decorate a house, school etc. could be as small as the size of a bunting too and that means that there are no hard and fast rules as to how big or small a flag can or cannot be.
Now, let’s talk about the flag designs that you will be making by using our free country flag mock-up PSD file! Like we have mentioned this above as well that a flag can be made and used for any purpose whatsoever as long as it represents the country, state, political party, educational institute, organization or even a moment so it is totally up to you to utilize our mock-up to create and demonstrate your very own designs. But there are a few things that you must keep in mind before you start working on the flags and their designs. Keep reading to know more and design better!
First things first, you must know the design and what it represents especially if you are working on a flag design for a country that may have been dealing with local issues within the country then you must ensure that you follow the design guidelines as they are so that you do not end up hurting anyone’s sentiments since it is one the most “sensitive” design projects you could ever work on. Another important thing that needs your attention is the part which is used to hoist the flag (a pole or sticks made of wood or steel). You must have the requirements with you so, that you know how much area must be dedicated to the hoisting part. If you are confused about the calculations then don’t worry because we have got your covered and with our free country flag mock-up PSD file, you will be able to see and show exactly what it is there to see and show!
For the flag designs that you will be creating for organizations that work privately, we will suggest you create at least three different options to give your client a variety of designs to look at before they finalize one of them. And we know that you know that this is our favorite part of every blog where we encourage you guys to always create a mock-up presentation of your designs before you arrange the review meeting.
We also know that mock-up presentations are considered to be important for only those projects that involve money but we do not agree with that approach. So, money or no money, know that your mock-up presentation will help the decision makers take an informed decision and they will be happy to work with you in the future as well.
And that is all for today! Get your hands on our free country flag mock-up PSD file right away and start working on your new cool project. Also, don’t forget to share your feedback with us in the comments section down below!
